The city of Miramar Florida is named after the Miramar District of Havana, Cuba. The city’s official motto is “Beauty and Progress.” Miramar loosely translates from Spanish as "sea view" or "sea sight," though it is not located directly on the Atlantic Ocean. Miramar being the second largest city in Broward County is ideally located for both commerce and recreation being only minutes away from downtown Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You will also find easy access to I-75, I-95 and the Florida Turnpike.

The Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark was created to celebrate creativity and diversity within the city. This landmark is a vibrant, urban destination located in the heart of the Miramar Town Center, situated adjacent to our City Hall.
The Miramar Branch Library and Education Center is one of many close by connected to the Broward County Library System.
Transportation
Our city of Miramar is within 30 minutes of Miami International Airport and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The Miami International Airport serves International passengers as well as the surrounding community. This airport has an innovative “people mover system” which will get you from the terminal to the rental car center to Miami-Dade County’s “grand central station.” The Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has recently expanded and transformed into a spacious, modern facility. Recently opened is a new Rental Car Center which houses a number of car rental companies servicing the Airport, and provides shuttle pickup for others.
